Guests of the event visited the mausoleum of Amir Temur (Gur-e-Amir), Registan Square, and the Shah-i-Zinda memorial complex in Samarkand. They also became acquainted with the activities of the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, the International Academy of Tourism, the UN Tourism thematic office, and an art residency.
The program continued in Khiva, where the delegation toured the “Arda Khiva” tourist complex, the Farovon Khiva hotel, the Nurillaboy Palace, and the Ichan-Kala historical and architectural complex — a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The cultural program gave participants an opportunity to gain deeper insight into Uzbekistan’s tourism potential and historical legacy, as well as to see firsthand how cultural sites are preserved and adapted for tourism development.
