Tourism Forum “Uzbekistan – The Pearl of the Silk Road” held in Ulaanbaatar

The forum was attended by the First Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, J. Abdusalomov; the Minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism, and Youth Affairs of Mongolia, Chinbatyn Undram, the President of the Mongolian Tourism Association, Damba Gantumur; the Commercial Director of Hunnu Air, Tserenkhu Turbold; and more than 150 representatives from the tourism sectors and media of both countries.
During the event, presentations showcasing Uzbekistan’s tourism potential were delivered. Particular attention was paid to the recent reforms implemented in the country, the development of new tourist destinations, the establishment of modern infrastructure, and the ongoing work in the fields of ecological, pilgrimage, and gastronomic tourism.
Forum participants were especially captivated by the unique architectural monuments of Uzbekistan’s historic cities—Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Shakhrisabz, and Tashkent—as well as by UNESCO World Heritage sites, traditional craft centers, and other cultural and historical treasures of the nation.
The forum featured B2B and G2B meetings involving tourism industry representatives from Uzbekistan and Mongolia. These meetings focused on areas of mutual cooperation, resulting in preliminary agreements on bilateral partnerships and the implementation of joint projects. Plans were also discussed to boost tourist exchanges between the two countries.
At the conclusion of the forum, guests enjoyed a national folklore program that reflected Uzbekistan’s rich culture and traditions. Uzbek dances, traditional melodies and songs, and regional cultural performances made a lasting impression on the audience. Guests were also treated to a traditional feast featuring dishes of Uzbek cuisine.
This forum served as a significant milestone in strengthening the tourism partnership between Uzbekistan and Mongolia, promoting experience exchange and the realization of promising new projects. The event further contributed to the development of friendly ties between the peoples of both nations and deepened cultural connections.
