The parties discussed the prospects of launching regular flights on the Kuala Lumpur – Tashkent – Kuala Lumpur route, which is planned to operate three times a week starting from October this year. The possibility of expanding cooperation and organizing connecting flights to third countries was also considered.
Special attention was given to increasing the flow of tourists from Malaysia to Uzbekistan, including the development of pilgrimage tourism within the "Umrah+" program. Uzbek tour operators also participated in the discussions.
As the Malaysian side emphasized, Uzbekistan is increasingly attracting interest from Malaysian tourists due to its Islamic heritage and religious traditions. Malaysia, as a country with a predominantly Muslim population, views Uzbekistan not only as a cultural destination, but also as an important part of pilgrimage routes.
