Promotion of Uzbekistan's tourism potential discussed in Islamabad

A meeting was held in Islamabad between the Chairman of the Tourism Committee Umid Shadiev and the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Production of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Haroon Akhtar Khan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues and prospects for developing cooperation in the field of tourism between Uzbekistan and Pakistan. Particular attention was paid to the issues of increasing bilateral tourism exchange and implementing joint initiatives in this area.
The parties expressed mutual interest in enhancing the partnership, including promoting tourist routes covering cultural and historical attractions and pilgrimage tourism.
The steps to create favorable conditions for attracting Pakistani tourists to Uzbekistan, further interaction between relevant departments and organizations of the two countries, liberalizing the visa regime and improving transport logistics were also discussed in detail.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain an ongoing dialogue to resolve these issues and conduct a joint campaign to promote the tourism potential of Uzbekistan.
