The festival, aimed at showcasing Bukhara’s tourism potential on a global scale and further promoting our historical values, attracts not only local visitors but also foreign guests.
As a result, the festival program was enriched with a variety of projects. This year, the festival began with a national caravan procession of participants, led by Nasreddin Afandi, from the Gaukushon Madrasa to the Nadir Divan-begi center. Songs echoing through the streets of the old city, along with small and large puppets depicting national heroes, delighted the residents and guests of the festival, especially foreign tourists.
The opening ceremony of the festival took place in front of the Nadir Divan-begi madrasa. During the event, Bukhara Region Deputy Hokim B. Shahriyorov spoke about the significance of the festival and the history of its organization. He congratulated those present on the Day of Jokes and Laughter.
Also, as part of the festival, various cultural performances were accompanied by traditional Eastern dishes, including plov – a national dish of the Uzbek people – which brought good cheer to the visitors.
As part of the festival, a competition was held at the "Gavkushon" complex to recognize the best chefs, craftsmen, and artists of the region. A total of 35 participants were awarded in 22 categories.
