The project, organized by the Tourism Committee and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan, aims to introduce the Japanese audience to the culture and achievements of Uzbekistan.
In January, the MBS crew visited Uzbekistan. The first episode focuses on Tashkent, where host Haruka Maeda visits the “Besh Kazan” pilaf center and learns about the process of making the traditional Uzbek dish, pilaf.
Then She explores Tashkent's metro stations, known for their unique architecture, such as “Alisher Navoi” and “Cosmonauts”. She also interviews passengers, gathering their opinions on the subway.
The next episode is dedicated to Samarkand, showcasing its historical landmarks like the “Registan” ensemble, the “Bibi-Khanym” mosque, and the Siab Bazaar. Maeda also highlights the craftsmanship of artisans who create products from natural materials.
The special episodes have received positive feedback, and reruns are expected during the “Expo Osaka 2025”, which will be held from April 13 to November 13, 2025, in Japan.
