The Republic of Uzbekistan is represented at this prestigious international event by a delegation led by Sandjar Tadjiyev, Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee.
The forum focuses on strengthening tourism cooperation between Europe and Asia, exchanging expertise, expanding tourism ties and promoting sustainable tourism.
As part of the forum, Sandjar Tadjiyev delivered a speech highlighting the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan’s tourism sector, the country’s rich historical and cultural heritage, its tourism potential and prospects for expanding international cooperation.
Representatives of foreign delegations were also invited to attend the Tashkent International Tourism Fair “Tourism on the Silk Road” (TITF–2026), scheduled to take place in Tashkent on 25–27 November 2026, as well as the official opening ceremony of the International Year of Sustainable and Resilient Tourism 2027, to be held jointly with UN Tourism on 27 November.
As noted during the forum, the proclamation of 2027 as the International Year of Sustainable and Resilient Tourism, following an initiative by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and a decision of the UN General Assembly, creates important opportunities to promote Uzbekistan’s initiatives for the sustainable development of global tourism on the international stage.
The event also provided an opportunity for meetings with Montenegro’s Minister of Tourism, Simonida Kordić, and representatives of the tourism industries of several other countries participating in the forum.
The discussions focused on further developing bilateral tourism ties, increasing mutual tourist flows, expanding cooperation between tourism organisations and businesses, and promoting joint tourism initiatives.
Uzbekistan’s participation in the forum is expected to strengthen international tourism cooperation, raise the country’s profile as a tourist destination and attract foreign partners to major international events scheduled to take place in Tashkent.
