A further step in this direction was the meeting of the Technical Working Group on the Development of Dual Education in Tourism and Hospitality, held at Swissôtel Tashkent. The event was organized by the Uzbekistan Hotel Association in cooperation with Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation and brought together representatives of the Tourism Committee, relevant government institutions, educational organizations, the hospitality industry, and sector experts.
Participants discussed the development of occupational standards and educational curricula based on international best practices and the evolving needs of Uzbekistan’s tourism market. Particular attention was given to improving the national dual education model, strengthening students’ practical training, and enhancing the qualifications of teaching staff.
The development of human capital has become especially important amid the rapid expansion of the country’s tourism infrastructure. During the first half of the year alone, nearly 600 accommodation facilities were commissioned across Uzbekistan, including around 90 medium- and large-scale hotels. This growth is driving increased demand for qualified professionals who meet modern international standards.
