Expedia Group is one of the world's largest online travel companies and one of the most authoritative sources of data on international travel demand. The company operates a portfolio of well-known brands, including Expedia, Hotels.com, Vrbo, Travelocity, Orbitz, CheapTickets, Hotwire, and several others. More than 300 million travelers worldwide use Expedia Group's platforms each year. Expedia Group partners with more than 3 million accommodation providers, as well as airlines, tour operators, and other travel service providers across more than 70 countries.
The increase in demand was also reflected in key booking indicators. In June, the number of travelers booking trips to Uzbekistan through Expedia Group increased by 45.6% year-on-year. Airline ticket bookings rose by 23%.
Among Expedia Group users, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Korea, Germany, and France remain the country's key international source markets. The strongest growth in demand was recorded in the United States and Japan, while the United Kingdom, Germany, and France led among European markets.
Within Uzbekistan, Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara continue to be the most popular destinations. At the same time, interest in Khiva is growing steadily. Over the past year, the city's share of total bookings has increased significantly, reflecting its rising popularity among international travelers.
Forward booking data also points to sustained strong demand in the coming months. According to Expedia Group, 82.9% of all confirmed bookings are for trips scheduled between July and September 2026, ahead of Uzbekistan's peak tourism season.
The growing interest in Uzbekistan comes amid the expansion of international air connectivity, the simplification of visa procedures in recent years, and intensified efforts to promote the country across international tourism markets.
