During the meeting, the parties discussed expanding cooperation in cultural tourism, cultural heritage site management, gastronomy, the hospitality industry, tourism destination branding, and creative tourism. They also exchanged views on attracting Italian hotel and restaurant brands to Uzbekistan and explored the possibility of launching regular flights to Uzbekistan by Italian airlines.
The meeting also covered the development of tourism strategies for the Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions, as well as the Fergana Valley, planning modern tourism infrastructure projects with the support of Italian consulting companies, and effectively enhancing the tourism potential of these regions.
The parties noted that, given the steady increase in the number of Italian visitors to Uzbekistan, training and improving the qualifications of Italian-speaking tour guides is becoming increasingly important. They agreed to continue working together in this area.
For reference: Interest in Uzbekistan among the Italian tourism market continues to grow. Between January and May 2026, nearly 18,000 tourists from Italy visited Uzbekistan.
