The discussion featured a comprehensive exchange of views on increasing tourist flows between the two countries, promoting Uzbekistan’s rich cultural and historical heritage and tourism potential among the Malaysian public, and further developing cooperation in pilgrimage tourism, cultural tourism, and other promising tourism segments.

The Tourism Committee particularly noted Ilham Tuah bin Illias’s significant contribution to strengthening relations between Uzbekistan and Malaysia, including the advancement of cooperation in the tourism sector. His active efforts to promote mutual understanding, trust, and friendly ties between the two countries were highly appreciated.

Ilham Tuah bin Illias noted the high level of cooperation with his Uzbek counterparts and expressed his appreciation for the support and hospitality extended to him during his tenure in Uzbekistan. He also commended the large-scale reforms being implemented in the country’s tourism sector and praised Uzbekistan’s growing profile in the international tourism market.

The parties expressed confidence that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Malaysia would continue to develop steadily on a mutually beneficial basis and emphasized the importance of making more effective use of the existing potential for cooperation.
