The China Tourism Association is an organization established to develop China’s tourism market, strengthen cooperation between industry companies and organizations, expand international tourism ties, and promote the country’s tourism potential on a global level.
The association includes airlines, tour operators, hotels, transport and service companies, online travel platforms, as well as more than 3,000 enterprises operating in the tourism sector. The organization plays an important role in analyzing industry challenges, studying new trends, and providing a platform for dialogue between the public and private sectors.
During the negotiations, a number of proposals were put forward to expand cooperation. In particular, discussions focused on actively promoting Uzbekistan as a safe and friendly tourist destination among member companies of the China Tourism Association, as well as attracting Chinese mid- and high-end hotel brands to the Uzbek market.
Given the high demand for 4- and 5-star hotels in Uzbekistan, the importance of subsidizing hotel construction was noted, as well as the existence of a cashback mechanism for franchises when attracting top-50 hotel brands.
Opportunities for developing MICE tourism in Uzbekistan were also discussed. It was noted that the delegation had previously visited major MICE facilities in Samarkand and Tashkent, and that new large-scale tourism centers are currently under construction in Fergana and Khiva. This creates opportunities for hosting international conferences, business forums, and large corporate events in the country. In this regard, it was proposed to organize large-scale events in Uzbekistan with the participation of members and partners of the China Tourism Association.
