It was noted that Trip.com Group is one of the world’s leading online aggregators of travel services and has more than 500 million users. The platform works with nearly 2 million hotels and hundreds of the world’s largest airlines. It is especially popular in China and Asian markets for travel arrangements.
During the meeting, issues related to the international promotion of Uzbekistan’s tourism market and the further expansion of cooperation were discussed. The parties signed a cooperation agreement on the active promotion of Uzbekistan’s tourism potential not only in the Chinese market but also in the markets of Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
Special attention during the negotiations was given to increasing the flow of tourists to Uzbekistan from new markets, implementing joint marketing campaigns, and broadly promoting the country’s tourism destinations through international digital platforms.
The meeting also highly assessed the results of the already existing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Trip.com Group. In particular, it was noted that 48,000 airline tickets to cities in Uzbekistan, 63,000 hotel room bookings, and 5,000 ready-made tour packages were sold through the platform.
The parties agreed to implement an advertising campaign called “Go Uzbekistan” in 2026 across Chinese social media platforms Douyin, Weibo, and Rednote. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to increase the number of views of content about Uzbekistan to 150 million and attract an additional 100,000 tourists.
At the same time, the meeting emphasized the importance of actively promoting not only Samarkand, Bukhara, and Tashkent in international markets, but also new tourist destinations such as Khiva, Karakalpakstan, the Surkhandarya region, and the Fergana Valley.
The parties also discussed organizing joint master classes for hotels and tour operators, exploring opportunities for developing Uzbekistan’s national tourism platform as a local service partner for Trip.com Group, as well as exchanging experience in the field of artificial intelligence-based travel planning technologies.
