Uzbekistan and Serbia Expand Cooperation in Tourism

During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for tourism development in Uzbekistan, its tourism potential, and its attractiveness for international travelers. The ongoing efforts to create priority tourist destinations and strengthen the country’s tourism capacity were highlighted.
Special attention was given to the development of film tourism and cooperation with international film companies. The projects “tax rebate” and “Film in Uzbekistan,” aimed at promoting the country’s cultural heritage and attracting international film productions, were presented. In this context, the Serbian side shared its experience of working with major international studios, including Netflix and others, which can serve as a valuable reference for the development of film tourism in Uzbekistan.
In addition, both sides expressed readiness to implement joint projects in the tourism sector, including PR campaigns and familiarization tours for media representatives and bloggers. The guests also showed interest in Uzbekistan’s experience in developing major tourism sites, such as the Center of Islamic Civilization, and expressed their intention to involve Uzbek specialists in implementing similar projects in Serbia.
Following the meeting, the parties noted the strong potential for cooperation between Uzbekistan and Serbia in tourism and cultural exchange and agreed to advance joint initiatives in film tourism, PR campaigns, and familiarization tours. These efforts open new opportunities for promoting both countries as attractive destinations on the global tourism map.
