Uzbekistan’s tourism potential featured on popular Pakistani TV show “Noor-e-Ramzan”

The program featured Ravshan Alimov, Counselor of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan, Chaudhry Hamid Mahmood, Uzbekistan's tourism brand ambassador in Pakistan and a representative of the Naqshbandi spiritual tradition.
During the broadcast, participants exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan in the fields of tourism, hospitality, and cultural heritage. Information was also presented about the reforms carried out in recent years in Uzbekistan aimed at turning tourism into one of the country’s strategic drivers of economic growth. Viewers learned about opportunities for pilgrimage tourism and about the rich historical heritage of the cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, and Tashkent. In addition, special video clips prepared by the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, dedicated to the country’s historical and religious shrines, were shown.
It was separately noted that the direct flights “Tashkent–Islamabad” and “Tashkent–Lahore,” operating twice a week, play an important role in bringing the peoples of Uzbekistan and Pakistan closer together.
As part of the program, the family of an Uzbek diplomat prepared a traditional Uzbek dish—Tashkent wedding plov. A master class on making Uzbek samsa was also held. Viewers were introduced to the traditions of preparing national sweets such as nisholda, sumalak, Kokand halva, and chak-chak. At the end of the broadcast, the prepared plov was served at the iftar table.
