In his speech, S. Tadjiyev emphasized that Uzbekistan is currently developing a diversified tourism economy, going beyond traditional cultural and educational tourism. Among the rapidly developing areas are gastronomic, event, medical and wellness tourism, ecological routes, and modern urban tourism. Particular attention was given to infrastructure projects, including the launch of the high-speed railway route Tashkent – Samarkand – Bukhara – Khiva, which will create a unified tourist corridor along the Great Silk Road, as well as the construction of a modern highway between Urgench Airport and Khiva to reduce tourist transfer time.
A key topic of the session was cross-industry collaboration aimed at creating new tourism products. Participants discussed the launch of the “Arda Khiva” tourism cluster in the Khorezm region — a full-fledged ecosystem located near a UNESCO site. In addition, O. Semenov, President of “UTair — Passenger Airlines”, spoke about plans to expand the flight program and launch new flights to Urgench from regions of Russia.
