During the visit, a project to create a modern tourist complex around the historical monument “Chilpyk,” located in the Nazarhan mahalla of the Amudarya district, was examined. The project предусматривает the construction of a visitor center, service infrastructure facilities, and the creation of a comfortable environment for tourists.
The working group also familiarized itself with the development project of the fishing settlement “Kipchak” in the Beshtom mahalla. This project aims to transform the area into an attractive tourist destination through the construction of new piers, restaurants, and retail facilities. In addition, new tourism products and routes were reviewed.
Members of the working group visited sacred and historical sites of Karakalpakstan, including the “Sheikh Jalil Bobo” shrine and the “Ayaz-Kala” monument, where issues related to enhancing their tourism potential were discussed.
During the review of the Akchakul tourism and recreation zone, proposals were made to expand the area and increase the range of services offered. The working group also focused on a project to create a modern beach zone on the shore of Lake Ashshikul in the city of Nukus.
In the Chimbay district, within the Konshi mahalla, a project to establish a “Craftsmen’s Center” was considered, as well as a project to restore the “Kara Uy” workshop in the Kokshi Kala mahalla. These initiatives were assessed as important steps toward developing national handicrafts and creating an attractive environment for tourists.
In addition, the working group reviewed the Karateren tourism and recreation zone and the Tahtеpa ethno-tourism village, where discussions focused on increasing tourist numbers and extending the duration of their stays. The activities of the Ak Kush ethno-tourism complex in the city of Nukus were also examined.
As part of the visit, a meeting was held with representatives of the tourism sector, during which proposals were voiced on developing tourism in the region, improving infrastructure, supporting entrepreneurs, and enhancing the quality of tourism services. In particular, it was proposed to create a Tourist Alley and tourist streets in Nukus to organize meaningful leisure activities for tourists in the evening, as well as to gradually construct sanitary and hygienic facilities, including smart toilets, in high-traffic areas.
Special emphasis was placed on the importance of completing the reconstruction works of Block I of the Karakalpak State Museum of Art named after I. V. Savitsky and transforming the museum into a regional tourism brand.
Additionally, proposals were made to form a “Tourist Ring” route by repairing a 50-kilometer stretch of road connecting the Muynak and Chimbay districts.
It was noted that these visits and assessments will contribute to the systematic development of tourism in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the implementation of new projects, and an increase in the region’s overall tourist attractiveness.
