As part of the visit, the Republican Working Group visited the village of Yangiqazgan in the Konimekh District, where it reviewed a presentation of promising projects to transform the area into a “tourism village.” During the discussions, the current tourism potential of the Konimekh District, planned new projects, and initiatives aimed at developing tourism infrastructure were considered.
In addition, members of the working group visited the Nurata District, where they took part in a presentation devoted to the region’s historical and cultural monuments, natural and recreational zones, opportunities for the development of pilgrimage and ecotourism, the state of existing infrastructure, and promising projects. Special attention during the presentation was given to the formation of new tourist routes, expansion of service offerings, development of family guesthouses, and ensuring employment for the local population.
The Republican Working Group also familiarized itself with the condition of historical kyarizes located in the Nurata District. The Nurata area is considered one of the oldest regions of kyariz distribution in Central Asia. Kyarizes such as Maston, Zulm, and Zulfikor have supplied the population with water for centuries. In particular, a project was presented to transform a kyariz located in the Nurfakhr mahalla into a tourist attraction. The project envisages measures to preserve historical heritage, create new jobs, construct parking areas, commercial and service facilities, observation decks, and sanitary facilities.
In addition, the necessary recommendations were provided on organizing family guesthouses in the tourist mahallas of Langar and Angidon in the Khatyrchi District, as well as on developing medical tourism in the Oltinsay mahalla. These initiatives are aimed at expanding the tourism potential of the areas, increasing employment, and improving the quality of tourism services.
As part of the visit, an open dialogue with entrepreneurs was also organized, involving more than 50 representatives of businesses, tour operators, artisans, hotels and restaurants, transport services, and museums operating in the region. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Economy and Finance, Transport, Poverty Reduction and Employment, the Agency for Cultural Heritage, the Agency for Expanding Forest and Green Areas and Combating Desertification, the Navoi Regional Khokimiyat, as well as other relevant agencies.
During the open dialogue, issues related to the effective use of opportunities in safari tourism, ecotourism, pilgrimage, historical and cultural, gastronomic, and handicraft tourism were discussed, along with improving tourism infrastructure and service quality. In the presentation delivered by the head of the Republican Working Group, A. Akkulov, the work carried out in the Navoi Region in 2025 was detailed, as well as the priority tasks planned for 2026.
As a result of the events, based on the proposals and recommendations expressed, specific tasks and measures were identified for the further development of the tourism industry in the Navoi Region.
The next meeting will take place on February 6 in the city of Jizzakh, Jizzakh Region, at the Zafaron Hotel (Bobur mahalla, I. Karimov Avenue, building 79). (Additional information about the meeting: Fayoz Kushakov, tel. +998 (99) 858-43-86).
