The First meeting of the Consultative Committee on Tourism under the ECO Secretariat held in Tashkent

This platform was created at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, proposed at the 16th ECO Summit in Tashkent in 2023, with the aim of developing the tourism sector, strengthening cooperation among member states, and implementing joint tourism projects.
The event was organized by the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The meeting brought together representatives of the ECO Secretariat, tourism administrations, the private sector, and experts from the member countries.
The participants focused on discussing strategic directions for tourism development in the region, sharing best practices, coordinating efforts between government bodies and the private sector, and promoting sustainable tourism practices. A separate discussion was held on the proposal to develop a “Roadmap for Improving Tourism Services,” initiated by the President of Uzbekistan.
