The opening ceremony was attended by Regional Governor Khayrullo Bozorov, who congratulated football fans on the start of the new season. It was noted that under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, large-scale reforms are being implemented to develop football in the country, club infrastructure is being strengthened, and the level of the Super League and Pro League continues to improve steadily.
A vertical system for football development — starting from local neighborhoods — has been formed, with new football schools and academies being established. As a result of these efforts, the historic achievements of our national team were proudly highlighted.
Special attention was given to strengthening the principles of fairness and transparency in football, as well as improving refereeing standards. The contribution of the leadership of the Uzbekistan Football Association and the Professional Football League was also recognized.
The regional governor noted that priority tasks have been set for further developing the club’s infrastructure this year. A modern “Neftchi” Academy has been established and will open in the coming days. The system for identifying and nurturing young talents will be strengthened, and projects have been developed to expand and modernize the Istiqlol Stadium. The main goal of these efforts is to turn Fergana into the football capital of the country.
It was once again emphasized that winning the championship this season is an obligation, and achieving victory in the AFC Elite League is the main objective.
During the event, strong confidence was expressed in the players of “Neftchi.” As noted, the team takes to the field not merely as a club, but as the honor, pride, and hope of Fergana. The new season is a new chapter; every match is a responsibility, and every victory is a celebration for our people.
Gratitude was also expressed to the devoted fans, whose support is the team’s greatest strength.
After the lineups of both teams were introduced, the match began. In the 9th minute, Boyan Ciger opened the scoring with a precise strike. In the 30th minute, Stipe Perica scored the team’s second goal. In the 75th minute, Zoran Marusic added a third goal.
The pupils of Islom Ismoilov started the new season with a confident victory.
