In Samarkand, the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction, together with GIZ PROGRESS, held a round table on electric vehicles with the participation of specialists from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
As part of the project, plans include developing professional standards for electric vehicle repair and maintenance and establishing a system for assessing specialists' qualifications.
This approach will first be piloted at the Qualification Assessment Center in Samarkand.
The current stage is experimental in nature, and its results will be used to assess opportunities to refine the standards and apply them more broadly in later stages.
In practical terms, this helps train personnel with modern qualifications in electric vehicles and "green" technologies, assess their knowledge and skills against a single standard, and bring the training of specialists closer to real labor market requirements.
During the event, participants also visited the Qualification Assessment Center in Samarkand and the BYD plant in Jizzakh.
