On September 10, 2026, an international conference on "Developing Social and Rehabilitation Services, Supporting Persons with Disabilities" will be held in Tashkent.
The event is being organized by the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Health, and the National Social Protection Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the support of the Advisory Council on Labor, Employment, and Social Protection of the Population of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member states.
The conference aims to further strengthen cooperation among CIS countries in the fields of social security, developing rehabilitation services, and supporting persons with disabilities, as well as to study international experience in expanding their participation in the labor market, ensuring their employment, and creating decent working conditions.
The event will bring together representatives of relevant ministries and agencies from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and the Russian Federation, as well as the CIS Executive Committee and sector experts and specialists.
Conference sessions will discuss modern systems for the rehabilitation and habilitation of persons with disabilities, the development of social services, new approaches to disability determination, and the integration of citizens with disabilities into the open labor market.
Within the plenary session and other sessions, global and national trends in comprehensive rehabilitation, the improvement of medical and social services, and promising areas of cooperation with CIS countries in the social sphere will be reviewed. Advanced international experience will also be shared, and practical approaches aimed at improving the rehabilitation of persons with disabilities and the effectiveness of services provided to them will be presented.
At the conclusion of the event, participants will consider the adoption of a conference resolution. In addition, on September 11, conference participants will become closely acquainted with the work being carried out in Uzbekistan to provide rehabilitation services.
