A meeting with representatives of employers and private employment agencies was held in Samarkand as part of a project for assessing and certifying welders' qualifications based on the international standard ISO 9606, implemented by the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction in cooperation with the Estonian Welders Association.
The goal of the project is to assess welders' professional skills in accordance with international requirements, confirm their qualifications, and expand their opportunities in both the domestic and foreign labor markets.
Specialists with international certification can reliably demonstrate their qualifications to employers, increasing their chances of obtaining well-paid jobs.
Sergei Boaga, Director of the Estonian Welders Association, shared Estonia's experience and provided practical recommendations on training welders and assessing their qualifications based on international standards.
The meeting discussed employers' needs, the requirements set for specialists, and issues related to improving the system for training and assessing welders.
