According to the Resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly on December 18, 2007, “On Improving the Situation of Women in Rural Areas,” October 15 is declared as the International Day of Rural Women. This date has been widely celebrated throughout the Republic of Uzbekistan for several years.
In particular, within the system of the Committee for the Development of Veterinary and Livestock, various spiritual and educational events have been organized this year to support women living in rural areas and working in the sector, as well as to increase their social activity.
On the occasion of this day, a spiritual and cultural event titled “Respect for Rural Women” was held at the Bukhara Regional Department of Veterinary and Livestock Development. During the event, nearly 50 women were presented with letters of appreciation and commemorative gifts from the Chairman of the Committee for their worthy contribution to ensuring epizootic stability and food safety in the republic, their many years of dedicated service in veterinary medicine, and active participation in public life.
As part of the event, a fair of meat and dairy products was also organized. The celebration was widely covered by mass media and social networks.
