On July 11 of this year, the next session of the “Professional-Educational Hour” was held for employees of the Central Office of the Committee for Veterinary and Livestock Development, on the topic:
“The Threat of Radicalism in Families.”
The event featured a lecture by Professor Jamila Shermukhamedova, recipient of the “Labor Glory” Order and an Honored Youth Mentor of Uzbekistan.
It was emphasized that the family is the sacred foundation of society and the primary source of education. It is also a stronghold of national values.
The father's example, the mother's affection, and the grandparents' advice play a vital role in passing down honesty, compassion, and moral values from generation to generation, embedding these deeply into the minds and hearts of children.
Recently, an incident that stirred public attention in mass media and social networks revealed the existence of illegally organized underground religious classes ("hujras") in our country.
In a special operation conducted by law enforcement, it was discovered that three individuals in Tashkent had organized such hujras in their homes and were illegally teaching 32 children religious lessons.
During these sessions, the children were reportedly beaten and regularly deprived of food as a form of punishment.
Upon inspection of the premises, authorities found wooden sticks, knives, and a pneumatic weapon. Furthermore, extremist and terrorist propaganda materials — including audio and video files calling for jihad — were discovered on the organizers’ mobile phones.
According to a well-known public figure, some parents had knowingly handed over their children into the hands of extremists affiliated with radical movements.
She stressed the danger of these helpless children, raised under violence and alien ideologies, and how unpredictable their futures could be.
The event also underlined the importance of strengthening the role of men and fathers in ensuring peace and harmony within families, and the need to foster love, care, and attentiveness among family members while remaining vigilant against various threats.
