REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
National Individual Consultant Services for "Establishing a Cold Chain for Vaccines: Review of Existing Refrigeration Equipment and Development of Technical Requirements"
(SLSDP/IC/04)
Livestock plays an essential role in society, performing various functions, the primary one being food production, which impacts the country's and its regions' food and economic security. Additionally, the sector fulfills several other roles, including environmental quality preservation, employment generation, and socio-economic development of rural areas.
The project's objective is to support the development of a productive, market-oriented, sustainable, and inclusive livestock sector in Uzbekistan.
The project aims to transform the livestock sector by creating sustainable livestock systems that can efficiently respond to the growing demand for animal products and climate risks.
The project consists of the following components:

Component 1: "Enhancing Public Services in the Livestock Sector";

Component 2: "Strengthening Market Infrastructure and Value Chains, Facilitating Trade";

Component 3: "‘Green’ and Climate-Resilient Livestock Value Chains";
-
Component 4: "Project Management and Coordination".
The project will be implemented in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and all regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 2023 to 2028.
Minimum Requirements for Applicants:
The consultant must meet the following minimum requirements:

A master’s degree in technical and/or engineering fields;

At least 5 years of experience in refrigeration equipment and cold chain for vaccines at the national level;

Participation in at least one project related to the cold chain with international organizations in the last 3 years;

Experience in cold chain systems in foreign countries is preferred;
-
Proficiency in Uzbek, Russian, and English languages.
The consultant will be selected following the individual consultant selection procedures per the World Bank’s Procurement Guidelines.
