According to the agenda, Furqat District Governor Elyorbek Asronqulov addressed local residents regarding the measures to remove the district from the category of “difficult” districts, ensure employment for the population, and accelerate the district’s social and economic development.
At a videoconference meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on January 23 of this year, dedicated to reducing poverty and ensuring employment, specific tasks were set for 37 “difficult” districts. Based on these instructions, a set of measures was developed in Furqat District aimed at increasing household incomes, creating jobs, and ensuring comprehensive development of the area.
The address noted that accelerated development of 34 mahallas is planned based on new approaches. Within the framework of the territorial investment program, it is planned to implement 79 projects in the industrial sector, 65 projects in the service sector, and 36 projects in agriculture. In addition, it is planned to allocate vacant buildings and areas to entrepreneurs and establish systematic work according to the specialization of each mahalla.
Currently, a foreign investment package worth $219 million has been formed, and agreements have been reached on 9 projects totaling $140 million.
It is planned to allocate 238.2 billion soums from the budget, which will enable the implementation of 672 projects and the creation of 2,020 new jobs.
Measures will also be implemented to improve electricity and water supply and to create decent living conditions for the population. For five mahallas where the image of the “New Uzbekistan” is planned to be formed, 46.4 billion soums have been allocated.
The district governor emphasized that strict measures will be taken to fully implement these tasks and remove Furqat District from the list of “difficult” districts.
Speaking at the session, Governor of Fergana Region Khayrullo Bozorov noted the great responsibility facing leaders and deputies, stressing that the ultimate goal is to ensure employment, reduce unemployment, and decrease poverty.
He emphasized that each project must be thoroughly analyzed and implemented according to a clear plan. The need to develop entrepreneurship in the district and support business project proposals was also underlined. Key tasks were defined in every direction, and deputies were urged to express their views and take an active part in the ongoing processes.
