New Tashkent Airport Project: Environmental Assessment Issues Discussed with International Experts

The meeting brought together the management and specialists of the State Ecological Expertise Center, representatives of UzAirports JSC, and representatives of international financial institutions from Japan and the Republic of Korea.
It brought together the management and specialists of the State Center for Ecological Expertise, representatives of JSC UzAirports, as well as experts from Japanese and South Korean companies and organizations.
During the meeting, participants discussed the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) documentation, national procedures for State Ecological Expertise, the requirements of international environmental and social standards, and future cooperation within the framework of the project.
The participants also discussed improving the environmental and social management system in line with the requirements of international financial institutions, preparing project documentation in accordance with international standards, the current procedures for conducting the state environmental review, and strengthening effective cooperation among all relevant stakeholders.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in the implementation of this strategic project, ensuring environmental safety, and integrating modern environmental and social standards into the construction of the New Tashkent International Airport.
