Tasks of the methodological support department

The Methodological Support Department functions as the methodological center of the state environmental expertise system.
The main objective of the department is to organize environmental expertise processes in accordance with the requirements of national legislation and international standards, as well as to ensure the consistent and high-quality application of methodological documents:
- Provides methodological support for conducting the State ecological expertise;
- Participates in the development of draft laws, decrees and resolutions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as resolutions and orders of the cabinet of ministers related to its field of activity;
- Studies national and international standards, as well as methodological guidelines, and takes measures to implement the necessary ones into national practice;
- Develops draft interdepartmental guiding documents, methodological recommendations, and materials on ecological impact assessment and state ecological expertise;
- Studies and introduces advanced international experience in this field;
- Monitors the application of regulatory legal acts, standards, guiding documents, technical regulations, and methodological manuals used by experts of the center and its territorial branches;
- Conducts an inventory of regulations and standards aimed at assessing the impact of economic activities on the natural ecological, ensuring ecological safety of the population, and protecting and restoring natural resources;
- Identifies areas in ecological expertise that are not regulated in technical terms and takes measures to address them;
- Ensures the publication of current regulatory legal acts on the Center’s website and provides methodological assistance to specialists of design organizations in their application;
- Participates in events and public discussions related to issues of state ecological expertise;
- Provides necessary methodological assistance to structural divisions and territorial branches on issues of ecological expertise.
