Corruption Prevention Begins with Each of Us

The event was attended by the Center’s General Director G. Mukhamedov, Senior Prosecutor of the Department for Supervision over the Enforcement of Legislation in the Fields of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Forestry of the Tashkent City Prosecutor’s Office Kamola Rakhimova, as well as Senior Assistant of the Department for Analysis of Issues Related to Ensuring Legality and Public Order Khondamir Mirsoatov.
The speakers emphasized that one of the current priority tasks is to foster an uncompromising attitude toward all forms of corruption and to strengthen anti-corruption efforts. Particular attention was paid to the need for timely identification and prevention of corruption-related offenses, elimination of the causes and conditions contributing to their occurrence, prevention of conflicts of interest, and the creation of an atmosphere of zero tolerance toward corruption within society and labor collectives.
As noted during the event, combating corruption involves not only addressing the consequences of already committed offenses, but also timely identifying and systematically eliminating the causes and conditions that generate corruption risks. In this regard, one of the key priorities identified was the digitalization of all areas of activity and the maximum reduction of the human factor.
During the meeting, special attention was given to the new mechanisms for managing conflicts of interest introduced within the public service system and departmental activities. Participants received detailed explanations regarding the timely declaration of situations involving personal (material or non-material) interests that may conflict with official duties, as well as the legislative requirements governing this area.
In addition, information was presented on preventive measures and anonymous surveys conducted to improve the legal awareness and culture of employees within the system, as well as to develop strong personal resistance to corruption. Particular emphasis was also placed on the need for the consistent and fair improvement of the staff rotation system for positions associated with increased corruption risks.
Participants also received comprehensive answers from experts regarding how to act in accordance with the law and professional ethics in various conflict-related and other sensitive situations that may arise in everyday professional activities.
