Public hearings were held on the construction project of the New Tashkent International Airport

The hearings were attended by representatives of JSC “Uzbekistan Airports”, LLC “Vision Invest”, national consultants LLC “OQTAVIA-CAC”, the company “5 Capitals”, representatives of the State Environmental Expertise, state environmental inspectors of Kuyichirchik district, chairpersons of the Yangiyol and Khalkobod mahallas, as well as residents of the Surum, Yangiyol and Khalkobod mahallas.
For reference: the construction of the New Tashkent International Airport is being carried out in accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 25, 2025. Within the framework of the project, the Ministry of Transport and JSC “Uzbekistan Airports”, together with “Vision Invest” and “Sojitz Corporation”, plan to build a modern airport in the territory of Kuyichirchik and Urtachirchik districts of Tashkent region. The project initiator is the company “OOTA VLA”.
The main objective is to develop the transport infrastructure of the capital and the region, enhance transit potential, and create favorable conditions for international air transportation.
During the hearings, the project initiators presented design solutions, construction phases, and environmental aspects of project implementation. Specialists provided detailed explanations regarding the impact zone up to 5 km, the impact on land plots and infrastructure, possible socio-economic consequences, issues of population resettlement (if necessary), as well as measures to mitigate potential negative impacts.
Representatives of the responsible organizations also answered questions from participants. Local residents expressed their opinions and proposals regarding the project. As a result of the event, a protocol was prepared, and it was decided that the expressed proposals and comments would be taken into account in finalizing the Environmental Impact Assessment materials.
