    Subsequently, by Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. UP-5246 dated November 20, 2017, the State Committee for the Defense Industry was established as the state body responsible for forming state defense orders and implementing a unified state policy in the field of defense-related production.

    As part of the administrative reforms of New Uzbekistan, the Defense Industry Agency under the Ministry of Defense was established on the basis of the State Committee for Defense Industry by Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. UP-16 dated January 31, 2023, "On measures to improve state administration in the field of armament of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the defense industry.
