These days, the city of Khujand in the Republic of Tajikistan is hosting discussions on cooperation between Central Asian countries in the field of Aarhus Centre activities. Representatives from the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as staff from the State Center for Ecological Expertise, are actively participating in this international event.

As is known, Uzbekistan became a full-fledged party to this international agreement earlier this year by joining the Aarhus Convention. The next step for the country is to ensure the fulfillment of its obligations under the Convention, including the establishment and functioning of Aarhus Centres. To achieve this, a legal framework governing their activities must be developed.
This forum is of particular importance for Uzbekistan in terms of exchanging experiences and learning practical solutions related to the operation of Aarhus Centres. Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, after all, have extensive and advanced experience in this area.
Additional information on the outcomes of the event will be provided later.
