Public Hearings Held at Enterprises in Andijan Region

The events were attended by specialists from the Andijan regional branch of the State Center for Environmental Expertise, inspectors from the Andijan Regional Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, mahalla chairpersons, and residents living near the enterprises.
Public hearings were held at the following locations: LLC “SOF SALAFAN PAKET” on Amir Temur Street in Andijan city; at the site of JSC “ANDIJON BIOKIMYO ZAVODI”; at the enterprise “Expansion of Knitted Fabric Dyeing and Bleaching Workshop” belonging to LLC “MASIS O‘RME” in Izboskan district; and in Paxtaobod district with the participation of representatives from the “Safe River Administration”.
During the hearings, the wider public was informed about the procedure for conducting public hearings as established by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On further improving the environmental impact assessment mechanism”, about the environmental impact of the proposed projects, and about their rights.
As part of the discussions, all participants visited the production facilities to become familiar with their operations. Participants asked questions of interest to the responsible representatives and received detailed answers.
At the end of the hearings, a vote was held regarding support for the implementation of the projects. Based on the results, the participants expressed their support for the proposed initiatives.
