To ensure the implementation of the decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at improving the efficiency of the education management system, as well as decisions adopted in the areas of ecology and climate change, the Agency for Professional Education and the National Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Ecology and Climate Change have outlined a number of key tasks.
In accordance with these objectives, regional departments will revise the charters of technical colleges based on a model charter and update the constituent and organizational documents of educational institutions. In addition, timely organization of the admission campaign for the 2026/2027 academic year, effective operation of admission committees, and extensive awareness-raising activities among prospective students are planned.
The Green Technical Colleges will introduce educational programs in new and modern specialties that reflect labor market demands. This will make it possible to train competitive professionals in the fields of ecology, hydrometeorology, environmental protection, and green technologies.
Furthermore, curricula and course programs will be developed on the basis of a dual education model in cooperation with the Central Asian University of Environmental and Climate Change Studies (Green University). This approach will effectively combine students’ theoretical knowledge with practical experience.
To ensure the effective operation of the colleges, special attention will be given to the selection, training, and professional development of teaching and administrative staff. Tasks have been defined for identifying qualified candidates for the positions of directors and deputy directors, as well as for establishing a talent pool of future leaders.
Overall, the “Green Technical Colleges” project is intended to bring Uzbekistan’s environmental education system to a new qualitative level, promote environmental responsibility among young people, and prepare highly qualified specialists essential for the country’s sustainable development. This initiative represents an important step not only in the field of education but also in environmental protection and the advancement of the green economy.
