The event was attended by Aziz Abdukhakimov, Adviser to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Environmental Issues and Chairman of the National Committee of Uzbekistan on Ecology and Climate Change; Inger Andersen, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP); Grethel Aguilar, Director General of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN); as well as heads of international organizations, members of the diplomatic corps, investors, manufacturers of environmentally friendly products, eco-innovators, representatives of government agencies, and members of the expert community. Delegations and representatives from more than 100 countries are participating in the exhibition.
“May this exhibition become an important catalyst for creating a green technology bridge that connects innovation, investment, knowledge, and practical solutions between Central Asia and the global community,” said Aziz Abdukhakimov. “Eco Expo Central Asia 2026 should serve as an effective platform for developing practical cooperation, designing environmentally attractive investment projects, launching new joint initiatives, and strengthening long-term international partnerships.”
Aziz Abdukhakimov also proposed declaring Samarkand the center of green investment and innovation in Central Asia. He emphasized that the city’s role as an international platform for environmental diplomacy, green finance, and the promotion of sustainable technologies continues to grow.
It was noted that the exhibition aims to promote economic development through the introduction of advanced green technologies and the preservation of the environment for future generations.
The exhibition is focused on advancing the green economy, introducing environmental technologies, and expanding international cooperation in sustainable development. It is worth noting that Eco Expo Central Asia 2025, held in Tashkent, became the first large-scale environmental forum of its kind in Central Asia, bringing together approximately 7,500 participants and serving as a platform for launching more than 130 environmental projects in cooperation with international partners.
In 2026, the exhibition is expected to attract around 10,000 domestic and international participants. More than 68 pavilions showcasing environmental products and services have been organized, along with 20 startup platforms for eco-innovators from across Central Asia.
The exhibition also features more than 50 side events, forums, and presentations dedicated to green energy, waste recycling, water resource management, climate change adaptation, and sustainable development.
The State Environmental Expertise Center is also actively participating in the exhibition with its own dedicated pavilion. The Center’s pavilion showcases projects and services in environmental assessment, environmental protection, modern environmental monitoring systems, and sustainable development.
A series of meetings with domestic and international partner organizations, investors, and companies operating in the environmental sector are being held within the framework of the exhibition. Discussions focus on promising areas of cooperation and opportunities for implementing joint environmental projects.
