BILATERAL MEETINGS WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE 69TH IAEA GENERAL CONFERENCE

UJD (Slovakia) — discussions with the head of Slovakia’s regulatory authority, M. Jakova, focused on establishing cooperation, organizing internships for the Committee’s staff at the Slovak regulatory body, visits to existing and under-construction nuclear power plants, conducting joint webinars and training sessions for experience exchange, cooperation in developing regulatory documents, and sharing technical expertise between Technical Support Organizations (nuclear and radiation safety scientific-technical centers). M. Jakova expressed gratitude for the meeting and confirmed Slovakia’s readiness to support Uzbekistan in developing its nuclear infrastructure.

HAEA (Hungary) — talks with A. Beatrice, head of Hungary’s regulatory authority, included establishing cooperation, internships for Committee staff in Hungary, visits to operating and under-construction nuclear power plants, joint webinars and training sessions, cooperation in drafting regulatory documents, and experience exchange on technical support organizations’ equipment. A. Beatrice expressed willingness to continue constructive dialogue and provide comprehensive support within her mandate.

Rostekhnadzor (Russia) — a meeting with A. Trembitsky focused on implementing the approved Joint Action Plan for 2025–2026, appointing responsible coordinators, signing agreements between Technical Support Organizations (State Scientific and Technical Center for Radiation and Nuclear Safety), and sharing experience in laboratory technical equipment. A. Trembitsky emphasized the rapid development and strengthening of cooperation between the regulatory authorities of Russia and Uzbekistan in the field of radiation and nuclear safety.

NDK (Turkey) — discussions with I. Halil Dere, Deputy Head of Turkey’s regulatory authority, addressed establishing cooperation, organizing internships for Committee staff in Turkey under the IAEA national project, visits to the Akkuyu NPP under construction, joint webinars and training programs, regulatory document development, and experience exchange on technical equipment of Technical Support Organizations. I. Halil Dere highlighted Turkey’s readiness to assist Uzbekistan and share advanced best practices.

PNRA (Pakistan) — a meeting with Zia Shokh Hussein, Advisor of Pakistan’s regulatory authority, covered developing bilateral cooperation, training Uzbek specialists in Pakistan, practical visits to operating and under-construction nuclear power plants, joint webinars and training sessions, cooperation in drafting regulatory documents, and strengthening collaboration between Technical Support Organizations. The meeting highlighted the rapid development of Uzbekistan–Pakistan relations and the new level of bilateral cooperation.

ANRS (Georgia) — discussions with N. Utiashvili, head of Georgia’s regulatory authority, focused on signing a bilateral Memorandum of Cooperation, partnership between Georgia’s radioactive waste management operator and Uzbekistan’s Republican Radioactive Waste Disposal Center under the Institute of Nuclear Physics, and experience exchange in radioactive waste management. Both sides agreed to fully use existing opportunities to strengthen practical collaboration.
