UZBEKISTAN JOINS THREE INTERNATIONAL CONVENTIONS

From September 15 to 19, 2025, the 69th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is taking place in Vienna, Austria. As part of the conference, a ceremony was held to officially submit the documents confirming the Republic of Uzbekistan’s accession to three international conventions joined by the country in 2025.
The Chairman of the Committee on Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety, Abduvaqqos Rafiqov, presented to the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, the official instruments of Uzbekistan’s accession to the international conventions for formal deposit and record.
In turn, Rafael Grossi noted that the agreements on joining these conventions, which were reached during his meeting with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in December 2024, had been successfully implemented in a short time and expressed his gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for his active stance on nuclear safety issues.
