THREAT ASSESSMENT AND DESIGN BASIS THREAT CRITERIA

The purpose of the event is to present the methodology for assessing threats to national nuclear security, including the development, application, and accounting of design basis threats. Participants include representatives from the Committee for Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministries of Health, Emergency Situations, Defense, and Internal Affairs, the National Guard, the Customs Committee, the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Academy of Sciences, and the “Uzatom” Agency.
During the event, lectures by leading experts from the Russian Federation and Slovakia are being presented, and participants are strengthening their knowledge on threat assessment and design basis threat criteria through hands-on exercises. This seminar provides specialists from IAEA member countries and relevant ministries and agencies of the Republic with an opportunity to learn about the latest achievements in the development of threat assessment and design basis threat criteria, updated IAEA guidance, the experience of the IAEA and other countries in threat assessment, as well as to exchange information on best practices, challenges, and opportunities in this field.
