Handling of Disused Sealed Radioactive Sources

The goal of the event is to assist member states in developing a national policy and strategy for the management of disused sealed radioactive sources. The seminar is attended by experts from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, representatives of the IAEA, as well as participants from Uzbekistan’s Committee for Industrial, Radiation, and Nuclear Safety, Ministry of Health, Institute of Nuclear Physics, and the “Uzatom” Agency.
During the seminar, lectures are being delivered by leading experts from the IAEA, Latvia, and the Russian Federation. Participants are also strengthening their knowledge by completing relevant training exercises focused on the development of national policy and strategy.
This event offers IAEA member states and specialists from interested ministries and agencies of the Republic of Uzbekistan an opportunity to learn about the latest developments in managing disused sealed radioactive sources, explore international experiences including those of the IAEA and other countries, and exchange information on best practices, challenges, and opportunities in this field.
