CBRN SAFETY TRAINING IN SAMARKAND

Within the framework of the European Union’s “Field Exercises on Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Safety” project, a number of events are being implemented across Uzbekistan. The main goal of this project is to ensure regional security and to strengthen cooperation in the areas of chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear safety.

On April 10 of this year, specialists from the Committee for Industrial, Radiation, and Nuclear Safety visited Samarkand region to coordinate the upcoming regional CBRN field exercise planned in Uzbekistan as part of the EU project. This was conducted in accordance with Paragraph 8 of Appendix 5 of the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PF-224 dated December 24, 2024, as well as instructions from the Presidential Administration.
During the visit, the working group conducted site assessments at the “Dinamo” football stadium and the “Alexander” hotel in Samarkand city to determine their suitability for hosting the event. Based on the results of the assessment, both facilities were found to meet the requirements for hosting the planned activities.
Organizational and practical work related to this initiative will continue throughout 2025–2026.
