COOPERATION WITH THE EUROPEAN UNION IN THE FIELD OF CHEMICAL, BIOLOGICAL, RADIOLOGICAL, AND NUCLEAR SAFETY

Within the framework of this collaboration, new methods for materials and technologies, safety standards, educational and training programs, as well as scientific research and their practical implementation are developed and directed toward radiation protection and safety assurance. Cooperation with the European Union is carried out in areas such as joint research, experience exchange, implementation of innovative solutions, and improvement of safety standards. This, in turn, ensures safety in the process of using nuclear energy.

The EU CBRN CoE initiative is funded by the European Commission and implemented in collaboration with the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) and the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission.
The European External Action Service also participates in the implementation of this initiative. The initiative is developed with technical assistance from relevant international and regional organizations, EU member states, and other interested parties, based on mutual cooperation at national, regional, and international levels.
More than 64 countries from 8 regions of the world participate in this initiative.
