The agreement aims to launch uranium production and accelerate geological exploration activities within other joint projects at the “Jongeldi” deposit, located in the Tomdi district of Navoiy region. The agreement allows the parties to combine their resources and expertise to develop innovative solutions for the project. According to initial estimates, the first phase of “Jongeldi” site development will require approximately USD 100 million in capital investments. Over the project's full lifecycle, total capital investments are expected to exceed USD 200 million. Uranium production is projected to average 500 tons per year, peaking at up to 700 tons annually. The investment phase is expected to last three years.
As stipulated in the agreement, foreign companies are the main investors in the “Jongeldi” project. At the same time, in order to reduce operating costs and integrate the project with the existing industrial infrastructure, the state enterprise “Navoiyuran” has been appointed as the project's operational manager.
In addition, this agreement marks the beginning of long-term cooperation between three major players in the global uranium industry. Alongside financial investments, the agreement paves the way for cooperation in the following areas:
- Development and implementation of innovative technologies in geological exploration and uranium mining;
- Exchange of knowledge and best practices in geological and mining operations;
- Enhancement of operational efficiency through adoption of modern corporate governance systems, ESG principles, and other international standards.
