DELEGATION OF THE COMMITTEE FOR INDUSTRIAL, RADIATION, AND NUCLEAR SAFETY AT KALININ NPP

A delegation from the Committee for Industrial, Radiation, and Nuclear Safety of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting at the Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant with representatives of Rostekhnadzor's Volga Regional Directorate of Nuclear and Radiation Safety of the Russian Federation. The meeting was conducted within the framework of the cooperation agreement on regulating nuclear and radiation safety in the peaceful use of atomic energy.
The delegation first familiarized itself with the activities of the NPP's information center, visited the turbine halls of units 1, 2, and 3, the control room of the third power unit, and the site for mobile equipment designed for managing design-basis accidents. At the end of the visit, the delegation members studied the procedures of state supervision at nuclear power plants. The plant’s specialists provided detailed answers to questions regarding the radiation situation in the region and the condition of local water reservoirs.
