Committee for Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan

During the debates, it was highlighted that the responsible committee carried out extensive work while preparing the draft law for its second reading, substantially refining the text based on proposals and recommendations from members of parliament. Specifically, it was emphasized that certain provisions were omitted from the draft in consideration of the interests of business entities, while several norms were aligned with existing legislation, substantively clarified, and editorially enhanced.

As noted during the session, the adoption of this draft law will help delineate the statutory authorities of competent regulatory bodies across industrial, radiation, and nuclear safety. It also ensures adherence to the principles of proportionality and sufficiency when imposing enforcement measures for violations of sector rules and standards, enhances the effectiveness of state oversight, and provides legal reinforcement for ongoing reforms.

The draft law was passed by the chamber and forwarded to the Senate.
