SAFETY ALERT NOTICE
2026-07-14 11:00:00 / News

The Committee for Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety of the Republic of Uzbekistan hereby issues a warning on ensuring industrial safety at hazardous production facilities during periods of extremely high ambient temperatures.
📅 According to the operational hydrometeorological information provided by Uzhydromet, from July 13 to July 17 of the current year, anomalously hot air masses are expected to move into the country from the south, causing air temperatures across the Republic to reach 44–46°C (111–115°F).
🌡 Under such extreme weather conditions, the following risks may significantly increase:
- rapid growth of internal pressure due to thermal expansion of gas in enclosed vessels and pipelines;
- intensified evaporation of petroleum products;
- accumulation of static electricity;
- critical increase in the likelihood of explosions, fires, and industrial accidents during technological operations.
❗️ In this regard, all operators are requested to implement the following preventive measures:
🔹 1. Gas Pressure Monitoring
Continuously monitor gas pressure and, where necessary, introduce appropriate operational restrictions to ensure safety.
🔹 2. Reduction of Gas Pressure at CNG Filling Stations
At Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) filling stations, maintain gas pressure at 170–180 kgf/cm² instead of the standard operating pressure of 200 kgf/cm².
Note: High ambient temperatures may cause the pressure inside vehicle gas cylinders to increase automatically.
🔹 3. Filling Limits for LPG Storage Tanks
At Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) filling stations, it is strictly prohibited to fill above-ground or underground storage tanks with liquefied gas delivered by road tankers beyond 85% of their total capacity.
Note: The remaining 15% of the storage volume must be reserved as a vapor expansion space to accommodate thermal expansion of the gas.
🔹 4. Suspension of Loading and Unloading Operations
🚫 When the ambient air temperature reaches 35°C (95°F) or higher, suspend all loading and unloading operations involving petroleum products and gas from road tankers into station storage tanks.
🔹 5. Safe Shutdown of Technological Processes
🏭 If abnormal overheating of technical equipment is detected at hazardous production facilities, immediately take the necessary measures to safely shut down the affected technological processes.
⚠️ Please Note
Timely implementation of these measures will help:
✅ ensure industrial safety;
✅ strengthen compliance with technological discipline;
✅ maintain fire safety;
✅ ensure adherence to technical operating requirements;
✅ prevent industrial accidents and incidents;
✅ eliminate, in advance, factors that may pose serious threats to human life and health.
📌 Reminder
This notice is preventive and advisory in nature. Its purpose is to promote the safe operation of hazardous production facilities with high fire and explosion risks and to prevent potential industrial accidents.
⚖️ Failure to comply with the applicable legal requirements may result in personal and legal liability in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
