International negotiations in the industry have yielded a significant practical outcome. On May 14, a Memorandum of Understanding on technical cooperation in the oil, gas, and chemical sectors was signed between the Committee for Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the international company ROSEN Group (Switzerland/Germany), a global leader in ensuring the integrity of production assets.
This agreement opens a new page in the industrial safety of our country. The memorandum creates a systematic framework for technical dialogue, continuous knowledge sharing, the improvement of risk management practices, and expert-analytical support.
🌐 Why exactly ROSEN Group? ROSEN Group is an international technology group with over 40 years of experience in diagnosing and monitoring industrial facilities. Today, the company operates in over 110 countries worldwide, unites more than 4,000 specialists, and has successfully inspected nearly 2 million kilometers of pipelines.
📊 First practical steps under the agreement – plans for 2026: The cooperation will not just remain on paper. This year alone, the practical implementation of the Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) project will begin. As part of Phase 1 of the project, work will be carried out to identify corrosion loops and damage mechanisms on 30 pieces of equipment (pressure vessels) operated at the production facilities of the "Uz-Kor Gas Chemical" LLC JV. These processes will be fully implemented based on the international API 580 and API 581 standards.
💡 What does this bring to our country's economy and safety?
-
Increased safety: Going beyond merely assessing the current state to accurately forecasting the future likelihood of corrosion and damage;
-
Continuity: Most inspections will not require a complete shutdown of the equipment and production processes (plant shutdown);
-
Resource conservation: Minimizing the large amounts of resources such as water, steam, and nitrogen, as well as the technical costs spent on hydraulic and pneumatic testing.
In short, this strategic cooperation between the Committee for Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety and the ROSEN Group will serve as a crucial legal and technological foundation for ensuring the safe, reliable, and long-term stable operation of Uzbekistan's industrial infrastructure.
