Committee for Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan

The study began with a visit to the modern Training Center of the Belarus NPP. At the center, the delegation was presented with a detailed model of the plant, along with a comprehensive explanation of its operating principles, safety systems, and control mechanisms. Specifically, multilevel protection systems and technologies aimed at ensuring radiation safety in VVER-1200 project power units were highlighted. 🛡⚙️

The delegation took a close look at the training sessions conducted on a full-scale simulator of the main control room. Specialists demonstrated various operating modes of the power units, including simulations of off-normal and emergency situations. During these processes, particular emphasis was placed on:

🔹 Action algorithms for operating personnel; 🔹 Mechanisms for rapid localization of incidents; 🔹 Protocols for the safe shutdown of the reactor; 🔹 Measures to prevent the spread of radiation. 🚨👨‍🔬

This reaffirmed the critical importance of the human factor, technological reliability, and precise regulations in ensuring safety at nuclear facilities.

In the afternoon, the delegation visited Ostrovets, the satellite city of the Belarus NPP. While exploring the city's infrastructure, special attention was paid to ensuring public safety around nuclear industry sites, environmental sustainability, and the development of the healthcare system. 🏥🌱

In particular, at the central district hospital, which is equipped with modern medical technology, diagnostic and treatment systems adapted to radiation safety requirements were studied. The delegation also toured residential, social, and sports infrastructure created for the safe living of NPP employees and the local population. 🏢🏃‍♂️

This visit was a logical continuation of the negotiations held on April 6 in Minsk. During the talks, both parties confirmed their readiness to further expand cooperation regarding:

🔸 Involving Belarusian specialists as technical consultants in the implementation of the NPP project in Uzbekistan; 🔸 Exchanging experience in radiation and nuclear safety; 🔸 Establishing a modern town for nuclear industry workers in the Jizzakh region. 📑🤝

The visit clearly demonstrated the strong trust between Uzbekistan and Belarus, as well as a firm commitment to elevating high-tech cooperation in the field of radiation and nuclear safety to a new level. ☢️🛡
