PUBLIC HEARINGS ON NPP CONSTRUCTION: FOCUS ON TRANSPARENCY AND ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY
2025-12-23 14:00:00 / News

The event is attended by representatives of state bodies responsible for the construction and operation of the NPP, international partners, local authorities, and the general public. This event was organized as part of one of the country's largest and most strategically significant energy projects to ensure transparency, openness, and the inclusion of public opinion. Participants include relevant government agencies, environmental control bodies, international experts, civil society institutions, local residents, and media representatives.
In reports presented by experts, topics such as environmental expertise, radiation safety measures, potential impacts on water resources and the biological environment, waste management systems, and compliance with international standards were covered in detail. It was particularly emphasized that the project is being implemented in accordance with IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) requirements.
Questions raised by the public primarily concerned public health, the protection of land and water resources, emergency preparedness, and long-term environmental consequences. Experts provided science-based, transparent, and clear answers, noting that safety remains the top priority.
It is worth noting that public hearings are a crucial mechanism for incorporating citizens' opinions into the decision-making process within the nuclear energy sector. This is of great importance for the social acceptance of the project, building trust, and adhering to the principles of sustainable development.
The results of these hearings in the Farish district are planned to be integrated into the subsequent stages of the project. Details of the event, including proposals and conclusions, will be extensively covered in our future reports.
