Experience in Nuclear Power Plant Control

During the visit, the Committee representatives visited the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority in Budapest and familiarized themselves with the key responsibilities of the authority in the field of radiation and nuclear safety regulation, as well as the experience in controlling both operating and newly constructed nuclear power plants (NPPs).
Additionally, during the visit, S. Yakubekov had a meeting with Andrea Beatrix Kadar, President of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority, where the prospects for bilateral cooperation and the draft memorandum for signing were discussed.
The Committee representatives also visited the Emergency Response Center of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority to learn about its operations.
On the second day of the visit, the delegation visited the public information and reception center at the Paks NPP, toured the operational reactors 3 and 4, the reactor control room, and the turbine hall.
They also reviewed the ongoing construction work for the new Paks II NPP.
